Description
The NHD-120-RX is a NetworkHD 120 series 4K30 4:2:0 decoder designed to receive and render AV streams over IP. It decodes low bandwidth compressed streams while preserving image quality for 4K displays. The unit supports secure encrypted transport to protect sensitive AV content.
The decoder supports multiview and video wall processing including mosaic layouts and screen rotation – expanding installation flexibility. AES 128-bit encryption and modern transport security protocols are implemented to protect streams and control traffic. Built-in scaling and seamless switching maintain consistent display output across mixed-resolution screens.
Technically the NHD-120-RX accepts 4K at 30Hz 4:2:0 content and is compatible with HDMI v1.4 and HDCP 2.2 sources. Network transport uses low bandwidth compression that can reduce bandwidth use by up to 6x depending on settings. Multiple transmission modes are supported with distinct latency/performance profiles to match deployment needs.
Connectivity includes HDMI video input compatibility, analog audio de-embed via breakout, and discrete control streams for IR and RS-232. Network options support multicast distribution and flexible IP addressing including AutoIP/Static/DHCP. Control is supported via standard protocols and the NHD Control apps for preview and switching.
Typical applications include corporate AV, digital signage, control rooms, and lecture halls where secure low-bandwidth 4K distribution and video wall or multiview layouts are required. The decoder supports bezel compensation and image rotation for complex display arrays and tiled installations. Mosaic video walls and custom idle images enable branded display downtime and bespoke presentations.
Installation is streamlined through scalable multicast I/O, customizable control mappings, and built-in image scaling for mixed-resolution environments. Seamless switching avoids black screens or freeze frames during source changes and the unit integrates with existing CEC/IR/RS-232 device control. Firmware updates and network management options simplify long-term maintenance and system upgrades.
