Description
The OG-FiDO-2R is a 2-channel single mode LC fiber to 3G-SDI receiver designed for openGear frames. It converts single mode fiber signals to two independent 3G-SDI outputs and supports distances up to 10 km. The module is compatible with openGear DashBoard for remote monitoring and control.
The unit accepts 150 Mbps to 3 Gbps video formats and performs automatic detection and reclocking for stable SDI outputs. Each fiber input is independent so different SDI rates can be carried on separate channels. LEDs indicate input presence and SMPTE lock status for quick diagnostics.
Performance includes support for 270 Mbps, 1.483 Gbps, 1.485 Gbps, 2.966 Gbps, and 2.970 Gbps rates with nominal wavelength range of 1260-1620 nm. The receiver consumes 2.5 watts of power and is hot swap capable for high availability operations. Reclocking on the inputs improves jitter tolerance and output signal integrity.
Connectivity includes 2x single mode LC fiber inputs and 2x 3G-SDI BNC outputs. The fiber connector is mounted on the main card to improve reliability and lower installation costs. DashBoard support on Windows, macOS, and Linux provides centralized monitoring of status and configuration across openGear frames.
This module is suited to broadcast and live production workflows where long-distance transmission and format-agnostic signal handling are required. Typical applications include remote camera feeds, OB truck signal returns, and routing audio/video feeds between facilities. It integrates into existing openGear racks and interoperates with certified openGear products.
Installation is straightforward in openGear 2RU frames such as OG-X-FR, OG3, and DFR-8321 and requires minimal configuration when used with DashBoard. The card is engineered for rackframe durability and hot swap serviceability to minimize downtime. Overall, the OG-FiDO-2R combines fiber reach, SMPTE rate support, and DashBoard management for reliable SDI reception over long distances.
