Description
The OG-FiDO-2T-MM is a two-channel 3G-SDI to multi-mode LC fiber transmitter designed for professional broadcast and AV installations. It converts two independent 3G-SDI BNC inputs to LC multi-mode fiber outputs and supports SDI rates from 150 Mbps up to 3 Gbps. The module installs in openGear frames for high-density rack deployments.
Key features include support for 150 Mbps – 3 Gbps video formats, automatic detection and reclocking, and dedicated Input Present and SMPTE Lock LEDs. The unit supports auto-select rates including 270 Mbps, 1.483 Gbps, 1.485 Gbps, 2.966 Gbps and 2.970 Gbps. DashBoard monitoring and control are available on Windows, macOS and Linux for remote configuration and status monitoring.
Performance supports multi-mode fiber distances up to 300 m on OM3 and 700 m on OM4 fiber, using a nominal wavelength of 850 nm. The 3G-SDI inputs are reclocked for improved jitter tolerance and signal integrity across the fiber link. Power consumption is low at 2.5 watts and the module is hot-swap capable for minimal downtime during maintenance.
Connectivity includes 2x 3G-SDI BNC inputs and 2x multi-mode LC fiber outputs, with the fiber connector secured to the main card for reliability. The module is compatible with OGX, OG3 and DFR-8321 openGear frames and adheres to the openGear standard for interoperability with certified partner cards. DashBoard support provides centralized monitoring and control across openGear installations.
Typical applications include broadcast signal extension, studio-to-transmitter links, OB trucks and venue installations where ground loop elimination and long-distance SDI transport are required. The transmitter suits systems that require low-latency uncompressed SDI over fiber and easy rackframe integration. Users will appreciate the simple status LEDs and remote monitoring tools for operational confidence.
Installation is straightforward in openGear 2RU frames and requires standard fiber termination and SDI cabling. The card is engineered for stable operation in 24/7 broadcast environments and supports hot-swap replacement to minimize service interruption. The compact openGear form factor optimizes rack density while providing enterprise-level control and reliability.
