Description
The OG-FiDO-R is a single-channel fiber receiver designed to convert singlemode LC fiber signals to 3G-SDI video. It extends 3G-SDI over singlemode fiber up to 10 km (32,808 ft) while providing reclocking to manage input jitter. This receiver is built for openGear frames and integrates with established rackframe workflows.
Key features include support for data rates from 150 Mbps up to 3 Gbps and mirrored dual 3G-SDI BNC outputs for immediate downstream distribution. The module provides automatic detection and reclocking along with input present and SMPTE lock LED indicators. DashBoard monitoring support is available across Windows, macOS and Linux for remote status and control.
Performance supports standard SDI rates including 270 Mbps, 1.483 Gbps, 1.485 Gbps, 2.966 Gbps and 2.970 Gbps with auto select. The nominal optical wavelength range is 1260-1620 nm to cover typical singlemode fiber deployments. Power consumption is specified at 2.5 watts and the module is hot swap capable for maintenance without system downtime.
Connectivity includes one singlemode LC fiber input and two mirrored 3G-SDI BNC outputs. The fiber input is reclocked to provide best-in-class input jitter tolerance for reliable signal recovery. The OG-FiDO-R is compatible with OGX, OG3 and DFR-8321 openGear frames and integrates into openGear ecosystems.
Typical applications include remote camera links, facility signal distribution, and broadcast ingest where long-distance singlemode fiber is required. The compact openGear form factor allows dense channel counts in 2RU frames and simplifies rackspace planning. Use cases benefit from the mirrored outputs for feeding monitoring paths and downstream routers or recorders.
Installation is straightforward – the card is hot swap capable and managed via openGear DashBoard for monitoring and configuration. The unit is engineered for broadcast environments with robust reclocking and LED status indicators to assist in commissioning and troubleshooting. The OG-FiDO-R provides a reliable and compact solution for extending 3G-SDI over singlemode fiber.
