Description
The OG-FiDO-TR is a single-channel 3G-SDI to singlemode LC fiber transceiver built for openGear frames. It provides bidirectional conversion between 3G-SDI and fiber and supports long distance singlemode links up to 10 km. The unit integrates with AJA openGear architecture for rackframe installations.
Both directions are supported independently – the module can operate SDI-to-fiber or fiber-to-SDI as required. Automatic detection and reclocking ensure stable signal integrity across supported SDI rates. Input present and SMPTE lock LEDs provide clear local status indication.
Format support spans 150 Mbps to 3 Gbps and the unit auto-selects between 270 Mbps, 1.483 Gbps, 1.485 Gbps, 2.966 Gbps, and 2.970 Gbps. Nominal optical wavelength range is 1260-1620 nm for singlemode operation. Power draw is 2.5 watts, minimizing thermal load in high-density racks.
Connectivity includes 1x 3G-SDI BNC input/output and 1x singlemode LC fiber input/output. Both fiber and SDI inputs are reclocked to improve jitter tolerance and both signal paths can run at different supported rates. The module supports DashBoard monitoring over Windows, macOS and Linux for remote control and status monitoring.
Typical applications include broadcast signal transport, remote studio links, and OB van installations where long distance fiber runs and reliable SDI conversion are required. The compact openGear mini-converter form factor makes it suitable for dense rack deployments and multi-channel systems. It is compatible with OGX, OG3 and DFR-8321 openGear frames.
Installation is straightforward – the card is hot-swap capable for serviceability and designed for use in openGear 2RU frames including AJA’s OG-X-FR frame. LED indicators and DashBoard integration simplify commissioning and monitoring. Robust reclocking and automatic format selection reduce setup time and maintain signal reliability over long fiber links.
