Description
The Pyro S Wireless Video Receiver accepts a wireless HDMI/SDI feed and provides low-latency monitoring and streaming output for production environments. It receives UHD 4K30 over HDMI and 1080p60 over SDI, allowing teams to monitor camera output remotely. The receiver supports UVC and RTMP, enabling direct use as a USB video source and direct streaming to platforms.
Key capabilities include support for up to 1300 ft line-of-sight transmission in standard mode and 650 ft in broadcast mode when more receivers are connected. The system offers as low as 50 ms latency and selectable HD or Smooth transmission modes to balance image quality and delay. It can pair one transmitter to multiple receivers and mobile devices to expand monitoring across a set.
Performance metrics include uncompressed wireless video, a maximum HDMI UHD 4K30 signal path, and SDI up to 1080p60. The receiver supports HDMI 1.4b output and 3G-SDI output and reports an RF sensitivity of -85 dBm. Channel bandwidth options include 40 MHz and 20 MHz across dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies.
Connectivity options are comprehensive – the unit includes HDMI and BNC SDI outputs, three RP-SMA antenna ports, a barrel DC input and a USB-C input. UVC plug-and-play support means the receiver can act as a USB camera source for Windows and macOS without drivers. RTMP streaming is supported via a network interface when connected to a compatible network adapter.
Typical applications include live streaming, field production monitoring, ENG, and small-studio workflows where a lightweight wireless receiver is required. The Pyro S is suitable for camera operators who need on-camera monitoring alternatives and for production crews requiring multiple monitoring stations. Its UVC and RTMP features also make it useful for conferencing and remote contribution workflows.
Setup and operation are straightforward – an onboard frequency scanner and a bright LCD simplify channel selection and pairing. Power options include USB-C, DC barrel input, and optional L-series battery mounting for extended mobile operation. The magnesium construction and compact footprint support durable field use and easy rigging on stands or camera mounts.
