Description
The Pyro S 4K HDMI/SDI Wireless Video Transmitter is a compact transmitter designed to send high-resolution video signals wirelessly across production sets. It accepts both HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs and supports up to UHD 4K30 over HDMI and 1080p60 over SDI. The unit targets live production, monitoring, and streaming workflows that require low-latency wireless video delivery.
The transmitter offers dual-band Wi-Fi operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and supports line-of-sight ranges to 1300ft in point-to-point mode and up to 650ft in broadcast mode. It delivers latency as low as 50 ms and supports two operating modes to balance image quality and latency. The Pyro S can connect to multiple receivers and mobile devices depending on mode selection.
Video performance includes UHD 4K30 over HDMI and multiple 1080p/i and 720p formats over both HDMI and SDI inputs. The system transmits uncompressed video and supports embedded audio from HDMI and SDI sources. RF sensitivity is rated at -85 dBm and channel bandwidth options include 40 MHz and 20 MHz.
Connectivity includes an HDMI 1.4b input, a BNC 3G-SDI input, three RP-SMA antenna ports, a barrel DC input, and a multifunction USB-C port for power and UVC output. USB Video Class (UVC) support enables plug-and-play webcam mode when attached to a computer. The Pyro S is also compatible with mobile apps on Android / iOS for monitoring and control.
Typical applications include multi-camera shoots where wireless monitoring is required, ENG and live event production where cable runs are impractical, and streaming setups that need direct UVC or RTMP output. The transmitter supports broadcast mode for multi-receiver monitoring and a higher-range mode for two receivers plus mobile devices.
Setup is simplified with preset grouping and smart channel scan that auto-selects clean frequencies at startup. Power options include USB-C (5-12 V), a locking barrel DC input, or an L-series battery on a fixed plate. The unit is built from magnesium and includes a bright LCD for configuration and status feedback, making it suitable for location use and field rigs.
