Description
The QRX-218S is a dual 18in passive subwoofer engineered to deliver deep low-frequency reinforcement for full-range systems. This cabinet pairs two EVX-180B cast-frame woofers to produce impactful bass extension and high sound pressure levels. The unit is designed for demanding live sound environments where reliable low-end output is required.
Key features include dual cast-frame 18in woofers with 4in voice coils and 1200W continuous power handling – offering robust output and headroom. The subwoofer provides a measured frequency response of 38 to 125 Hz (-3 dB) and an extended range to 31 to 250 Hz (-10 dB). A long-term maximum SPL rating of 133 dB continuous and 139 dB peak ensures effective reinforcement for large spaces.
Performance is supported by a vented 13-ply birch plywood enclosure finished with EVCoat for durability and acoustic consistency. The EVX-180B drivers are optimized for excursion and thermal stability, providing reliable performance under sustained program loads. Sensitivity is specified at 102 dB which contributes to efficient coupling with power amplifiers.
Connectivity is simplified with dual Neutrik NL4 speakON connectors for secure, professional speaker-level hookups. The cabinet includes an integrated 1-3/8in pole socket to mount a full-range speaker on top of the sub for flown or stacked PA configurations. No network or USB interfaces are present as this unit is a purely passive loudspeaker device.
The QRX-218S is well suited to houses of worship, theaters, clubs, and live stage productions where authoritative bass reinforcement is needed. Its sealed pocket wheels and recessed handles make road transport and stage placement straightforward. The rugged construction and protective metal grille help protect drivers and maintain performance in repeated use.
Installation and operation prioritize simplicity and durability – the cabinet accepts standard speaker poles and connects via industry-standard speakON connectors. Recessed handles on all sides and sealed pocket wheels assist with handling during setup and teardown. The overall design balances high output, mechanical protection, and practical portability for touring and installed sound systems.
