Description
The RE3-ND86-5H is a professional handheld wireless microphone set that combines a dynamic supercardioid ND86 microphone head, an RE3-RX rack receiver, and an RE3-HHT handheld transmitter body. This set operates across the 560 – 596 MHz band and delivers selectable transmit power for flexible range control. It is designed to provide clear vocal reproduction and reliable RF performance in live sound and presentation environments.
The system includes a precision-tuned dynamic capsule with a large Mylar diaphragm for fast transient response and balanced tonal output. The ND86 head uses a 4-point capsule suspension plus a pneumatic base for superior handling-noise isolation. The Memraflex tight-mesh grille and hydrophobic cloth membrane protect the capsule from moisture and debris while a humbucking coil reduces AC hum and electromagnetic interference.
The RE3-RX receiver is a 1/2 space rack-mountable diversity receiver with an easy-to-read LCD, frequency scanning, and ultrasonic sync to the transmitter. The receiver offers a wide tuning bandwidth with frequencies selectable in 25 kHz steps and diversity switching to minimize dropouts. The system provides 1440 selectable frequencies within the 36 MHz tuning range and transmit power options of 10 mW and 50 mW depending on band configuration.
Connectivity and interoperability focus on standard handheld coupling and wireless synchronization. The microphone head uses the common 3-contact rings 1.25 in diameter by 28 UN-2A thread pitch coupling convention to mate with the RE3-HHT body and many other handheld transmitters. The RE3-HHT runs on 2 AA alkaline or NiMH cells and includes recharging contacts for use with the optional BC2 charging station. The ultrasonic sync function and wireless parameter synchronization streamline setup between receiver and transmitter.
This set is well suited to live sound, houses of worship, corporate AV, and presentation scenarios where strong vocal presence and RF reliability are required. The supercardioid polar pattern improves onstage isolation and feedback rejection, making the system a good choice near monitors and speaker cabinets. The selectable output power and wide tuning range help avoid interference in crowded RF environments and support multi-channel deployments.
Installation and daily use emphasize durability and ease of operation. The all-metal transmitter body and rugged Memraflex grille withstand gig-after-gig handling while the captured floating ID collar allows proper branding orientation when the head is tightened. Frequency scanning and one-touch sync reduce setup time and help technicians maintain consistent system control across events. The RE3-ND86-5H delivers a balanced combination of audio quality, mechanical robustness, and straightforward system management.
