Description
The RE3 ND96 handheld wireless set is a UHF vocal microphone system comprised of a dynamic ND96 microphone head, an RE3-HHT handheld transmitter, and an RE3-RX 1/2-rack diversity receiver. The set operates in the 5H band covering 560 – 596 MHz and provides a 36 MHz tuning bandwidth for flexible frequency selection. This configuration is engineered for live vocal reinforcement where intelligibility and RF reliability are critical.
The ND96 dynamic supercardioid head uses a large Mylar diaphragm to deliver balanced tonal response and fast transient detail. It features selectable vocal presence tuning to emphasize upper-midrange clarity and reduce problematic low-mid energy. Structural acoustics, a 4-point capsule suspension and a tuned pneumatic base pump reduce handling noise and improve gain-before-feedback.
The RE3-HHT handheld transmitter offers threaded 1.25″ diameter by 28 UN-2A pitch head coupling and a floating captured ID collar for controlled branding orientation. The transmitter runs on two AA alkaline or NiMH rechargeable cells and provides selectable transmit output power of 10 mW and 50 mW depending on band. The RE3-RX receiver is a rack-mountable 1/2-space diversity unit with frequency scanning, ultrasonic sync and an easy-to-read LCD supporting 25 kHz step tuning.
Connectivity and compatibility are broad – the microphone head adheres to the common 3-contact ring coupling convention used by many wireless handheld systems. The RE3-HHT supports ultrasonic sync to transfer frequency and control data to the transmitter from the receiver. Recharging contacts on the transmitter bodies allow use with the optional BC2 charging station for convenient in-rack charging of NiMH cells.
This set is intended for demanding live performance, touring, corporate presentations and houses of worship where vocal clarity, handling immunity and RF flexibility are required. The humbucking coil in the capsule attenuates AC hum and EMI for reliable use near speaker cabinets and equipment racks. Selectable frequency allocation and a wide tuning bandwidth simplify multi-channel coordination in crowded RF environments.
Built for rugged use, the ND96 head employs a Memraflex tight-mesh grille and a hydrophobic cloth membrane to protect the diaphragm from moisture and debris. The RE3-HHT features an all-metal transmitter body designed for road use, while the RE3-RX receiver provides diversity reception to minimize signal dropouts. Together the set balances acoustic performance, RF flexibility and mechanical durability for sustained professional operation.
