Description
The RS600i is a 6.5 inch coaxial open-ceiling speaker designed to deliver balanced two-way audio in commercial and architectural spaces. It combines a polypropylene woofer and a convex titanium tweeter mounted on an aluminum baffle to produce clear midrange and extended high frequencies. The enclosure uses patented ZeroReflection technology to minimize internal reflections and improve clarity.
Key features include a BroadBeam waveguide tweeter for consistent dispersion, a ported enclosure for enhanced low frequency output, and weatherized components for indoor or sheltered outdoor use. The speaker includes a six-position tap switch that supports 25, 70.7 and 100 volt systems plus a transformer bypass for 8 ohm operation. A low-profile steel grille and durable finishes provide long-term reliability and a discreet visual appearance.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 85 Hz to 17 kHz (-3 dB) and 58 Hz to 22 kHz (-10 dB), 88.5 dB sensitivity, and a maximum continuous RMS power rating of 90 W. The RS600i achieves a maximum SPL of 108 dB at 1 meter and a coverage angle averaged 2-10 kHz of 100 degrees for consistent edge-to-edge intelligibility. Directivity metrics and a 3.0 kHz crossover are optimized for even dispersion in typical ceiling installations.
Connectivity is provided via a four-pin 5.08 mm Euroblock connector for individual or daisy-chain runs, and the speaker ships with a terminal weather boot for moisture protection. Included UL-listed hanging hardware and SpeedClamp self-locking cable grips simplify suspension mounting and adjustability during installs. An optional surface-mount bracket is available for applications where open-ceiling suspension is not possible.
Typical use cases include background and foreground music in retail, hospitality, and corporate spaces, paging and voice communications, and audio coverage in covered outdoor areas. The BroadBeam waveguide supports high speech intelligibility across the listening area while the ported chassis extends low frequency reach for fuller sound. Multiple tap settings and transformer bypass simplify inventory choices for mixed 70V and low-impedance systems.
Installation and serviceability are straightforward – the low-profile grille and molded enclosure allow discreet placement while the SpeedClamp hardware and Euroblock connector speed up wiring and suspension. The speaker is constructed from glass-fiber reinforced ABS and a powder-coated steel grille to withstand demanding environments. Certified to UL 1480 and UL 2239 and RoHS compliant, the RS600i is engineered for reliable commercial operation.
