Description
The RS800i is an 8 inch coaxial open-ceiling speaker designed to deliver speech intelligibility and full-range music reproduction in indoor and covered outdoor environments. It combines an 8.0 inch polypropylene woofer and a convex titanium tweeter mounted on a cast-aluminum baffle to provide consistent coverage and extended low-frequency response. The speaker is built for loudspeaker systems requiring selectable line-voltage operation or direct low-impedance drive.
Key features include SoundTube BroadBeam waveguide technology for controlled dispersion and edge-to-edge coverage, ferrofluid-cooled tweeter motor cooling for reliable HF performance, and patented ZeroReflection enclosure design for cabinet rigidity and accurate reproduction. The RS800i offers a six-position tap selector for 25/70.7/100 volt applications plus a transformer bypass position for direct 8 ohm use. A low-profile steel grille and durable paint finishes simplify aesthetic integration into architectural ceilings.
Performance highlights include a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, sensitivity of 89.5 dB (2.83 V/1 m), and a usable frequency response listed at 80 Hz to 22 kHz. The design supports up to 250 W program power and produces high output SPL suitable for foreground or background audio. Coverage is measured at approximately 100 deg at 2 kHz, 115 deg at 10 kHz, and an averaged 105 deg across 2 to 10 kHz for consistent off-axis response.
Connectivity is via a four-pin 5.08 mm Euroblock for individual or daisy-chain wiring and the speaker ships with a Euroblock connector and terminal weather boot for exposed installations. The hanging hardware is UL listed and includes galvanized steel cables with an integrated SpeedClamp self-locking cable grip for rapid and secure suspension. The six-position rotary tap switch allows simple selection of 25, 70.7, or 100 volt taps or transformer bypass for low-impedance systems.
The RS800i is suited to retail, hospitality, transportation hubs, houses of worship, corporate spaces, and covered outdoor areas where evenly distributed ceiling coverage and clear voice reproduction are required. It supports paging, background music, and foreground program material and integrates with common commercial audio infrastructures. Weatherized components and paintable finishes allow matching to venue aesthetics while maintaining durability.
Installation is straightforward thanks to included UL hanging hardware, SpeedClamp cable grips, and a compact open-ceiling enclosure that minimizes visual impact. The injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced ABS enclosure and powder-coated steel grille offer long-term reliability in commercial environments. The RS800i is certified to UL 1480 and UL 2239 and meets CE and RoHS requirements, helping simplify safety compliance for professional installations.
