Description
The RU-LB2 is a 2×2 line-level bi-directional Dante network interface designed to convert between standard analog line-level signals and Dante network audio channels. It accepts two line-level inputs and presents two balanced line-level outputs driven from Dante streams. The module is intended for professional AV installations where reliable analog-to-network and network-to-analog conversion is required.
The unit converts two Dante receive channels to balanced line-level outputs at +4 dBu nominal and converts two line-level inputs to Dante network channels using high-resolution 24-bit conversion. Front-panel controls include input gain trimmers and Dual-LED VU meters for precise input level setting, plus single signal LEDs for received Dante channels to aid setup without a networked computer. The RU-LB2 provides greater than 18 dB of headroom above nominal operating level to preserve transient peaks.
Performance specifications include 24-bit ADC/DAC, supported sample rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz (default), THD+N below 0.05%, noise floor better than 80 dB below operating level, and channel crosstalk below 85 dB across the audio band. Input impedance exceeds 20 kQ and the audio frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.5 dB. These characteristics deliver low-noise networked audio and ample dynamic range for professional systems.
Connectivity is provided via an RJ45 Dante network port with link and speed indicators and balanced detachable terminal blocks for the two inputs and two outputs. Power is via an external 24 Vdc supply or, for the RU-LB2P variant, PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af with normal or hot-standby operation. The front panel also exposes indicators for network sync and Ethernet status to simplify commissioning and monitoring.
Typical applications include equipment rack and closet installations, conference table or podium audio integration, distributed audio systems in corporate or hospitality venues, and broadcast or house-of-worship signal transport. The RU-LB2 is suited to both sending line-level sources onto a Dante network and receiving Dante channels for local balanced outputs. Its compact enclosure and terminal-block connectivity make it easy to integrate into existing analog signal paths.
The RU-LB2 is built in an all-metal enclosure for free-standing, surface-mounted or rack-mounted installation and is engineered for continuous duty in commercial environments. Setup and routine operation are simplified by front-panel meters and LEDs and by the module’s deterministic Dante connectivity. The design emphasizes dependable audio fidelity and long-term reliability in professional AV systems.
