The RU-MLB4P is a 4×4 mic/line bi-directional Dante network interface designed for professional AV installations. It converts four local mic or line sources to Dante network channels and converts four Dante receive channels to balanced line outputs. The unit supports PoE operation and can also run from an external 24 Vdc supply, providing flexible power options for installations.
Key features include four switch-selectable inputs for mic or line operation, automatic microphone gain selection, and P48 phantom power on each mic input. Each input provides automatic gain of 40 dB for condenser microphones and 60 dB for dynamic microphones so no manual trim adjustments are required. The device also presents four balanced +4 dBu outputs corresponding to Dante receive channels for seamless integration with pro audio gear.
Audio conversion uses high-resolution 24-bit A/D and D/A converters and supports 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates. Network audio levels map -18 dBFS to +4 dBu nominal output and the system maintains greater than 18 dB headroom above +4 dBu. Measured performance includes very low THD and low noise floor specifications that suit critical installed audio environments.
Connectivity includes an RJ45 Dante network port with Link and Speed indicators, balanced detachable terminal blocks for inputs and outputs, and separate terminals for unbalanced line inputs. The RU-MLB4P supports PoE Class 0 (IEEE 802.3af) and also accepts a 24 Vdc external supply; it will run from the external supply and seamlessly switch to PoE upon external loss. Front-panel LEDs indicate input and output signal presence plus network sync status to simplify onsite setup.
This module is intended for commercial and industrial installations including equipment racks, conference furniture, AV closets, and media rooms. Typical use cases include conferencing systems, broadcast contribution/return feeds, and distributed audio over Dante networks. The RU-MLB4P is suitable where mixed mic and line sources must be bridged to a Dante network with reliable performance.
Rack-ready and built in an all-metal enclosure, the RU-MLB4P supports surface or rack mounting and continuous duty installation. Installer-friendly features include detachable terminal blocks, rear-panel mic/line selectors, and front-panel variable-intensity signal LEDs for on-site leveling.
