Description
The SDIA-IN2-F34 is a two-channel SDI input card designed to accept dual SDI video sources and embed optional unbalanced stereo analog audio for integration into a VS-34FD modular matrix chassis. It converts each SDI input independently into HDMI format inside the matrix for internal routing and downstream distribution. The module supports multi-standard SDI formats to accommodate SD, HD, and 3G workflows.
Key capabilities include a maximum data rate of 3Gbps and multi-standard operation supporting SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G HD-SDI. The card provides stereo audio embedding so analog audio on 3.5mm mini jacks can be merged into the SDI/HDMI output. Each channel is processed separately to preserve source independence and routing flexibility within the matrix.
Performance specifications include 3Gbps total bandwidth and defined maximum cable ranges: 300m (980ft) for SD, 200m (655ft) for HD 1080p, and 90m (295ft) for 3G 1080p, which helps plan installations with long cable runs. The module consumes 6W and operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees C, with storage rated to -40 to 70 degrees C. Environmental compliance includes RoHS and WEEE and safety compliance marked CE.
Connectivity is provided via two 75 ohm BNC SDI inputs and two unbalanced analog audio inputs on 3.5mm mini jacks. The card installs into compatible Kramer VS-series modular chassis and converts each SDI input to HDMI format internally for routing. The audio embedding supports unbalanced stereo connections commonly used in production and presentation environments.
Typical applications include broadcast and production studios, non-linear editing suites, and presentation spaces such as boardrooms and classrooms where reliable SDI ingest and audio embedding are required. The module is suitable for on-premise video distribution systems and integrates into multi-format digital matrix switchers. Its support for SD, HD, and 3G formats ensures compatibility with a broad range of professional video sources.
Installation is straightforward as a plug-in module for the VS-34FD chassis and related VS-series frames. The card is compact and follows the chassis form factor for hot-swap or serviceable upgrades depending on system configuration. Built to pro AV standards, it offers regulated power consumption, compact dimensions, and standard compliance to simplify system integration and maintenance.
