Description
The SF-NP16E is a PoE capable network audio amplifier that converts a single Dante channel to a constant-voltage loudspeaker output. It delivers 16 watts RMS at 0 dBFS to either 70 V or 100 V speaker lines. The unit requires no special configuration software for basic operation and supports continuous operation in professional installations.
The amplifier includes an internal Class D power stage and on-board VCA for smooth level control. It supports selectable Dante sample rates and 24-bit audio to retain program fidelity across the network. Built-in protections include thermal and short-circuit safeguards and current limiting to protect PoE+ ports from shutdown during extreme conditions.
Audio performance is specified as 16 W RMS output, frequency response of +0/-3 dB from 50 Hz to 20 kHz, and THD+N below 1% at 1 kHz. Noise performance is specified at below -90 dB at maximum power and below -80 dB at one-eighth power. The SF-NP16E is plenum rated to UL 2043 for compliance in air-handling spaces.
Connectivity is via an RJ45 Ethernet connector supporting Dante over 100 Mbps and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ Class 4 power. A detachable terminal block accepts either a 10 k ohm potentiometer or a 0 to 10 Vdc control voltage for remote level control. Front and rear LEDs indicate Dante sync, output mute status, network link/speed, and a Port Protect condition when power limiting is active.
This module is intended for distributed audio installations such as paging zones, background music circuits, and localized amplification for small rooms. It can be deployed where centralized Dante audio is distributed to multiple local constant-voltage drivers. The SF-NP16E is suitable for continuous-duty applications requiring networked control and remote level adjustment.
The enclosure is all-metal for durability and supports free-standing, surface, or rack-mounted installation. PoE+ powering simplifies wiring while an optional 24 Vdc external supply is supported for non-PoE environments. The module provides a compact, low-heat Class D solution with robust protection and simple network integration.
