The SN3402 Secure Serial Device Server provides a secure bridge between legacy serial equipment and modern IP networks. It converts RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485 serial data into Ethernet packets so remote hosts can access serial devices over a LAN or WAN. The unit supports secure management and encrypted data channels for critical deployments.
The device offers multiple secured operation modes including Secure Real COM, Secure TCP Server / Client, Secure Serial Tunneling Server / Client, and SSH console management. It supports Modbus gateway functionality to translate Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU / ASCII and back. Redundant power inputs plus PoE PD support enable resilient installations in constrained power environments.
Performance details include support for common baud rates up to 921600 bps, Real COM and Real TTY drivers for major operating systems, and a 64 KB port buffer to prevent data loss during network outages. Software-configurable RS-485 termination and pull-high/pull-low resistors help maintain signal integrity on long runs. The unit includes surge and magnetic isolation protection to improve system stability in industrial settings.

The SN3402 supports multiple simultaneous connections to a single serial port and provides browser-based and terminal-based management interfaces.
