The TP-BN14 is a tabletop bidirectional Dante network interface that converts a standard microphone input into a Dante network channel and provides local monitoring options. It integrates a shock-mounted XLR mic input with automatic gain control and P48 phantom power for condenser microphones. The front-panel controls include mute and a headphone source selector for direct monitoring.
Key features include automatic microphone gain that supports condenser and dynamic microphones, a mute button for instant silence, and 24-bit analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion. The unit offers a selectable stereo headphone output sourced from multiple Dante channels and a front-panel VCA level control that preserves audio quality. A built-in 2 watt RMS speaker with compressor/limiter provides a small local monitor output.
Performance is specified for professional audio networks with supported sample rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz and 24-bit depth. The mic preamp provides automatic gain (40 dB for condenser, 60 dB for dynamic), greater than 70 dB CMRR, frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and THD+N below 0.1% on the mic path. Headphone output delivers 90 mW per channel into 100 ohms with THD+N under 0.2% and noise performance below -70 dB under typical conditions.
Connectivity includes an RJ45 Ethercon-style network connector running Dante over 100 Mbps, an XLR balanced mic input with P48 phantom, a stereo mini-jack headphone output, and a front-panel speaker. Power may be supplied via PoE (Class 0 IEEE 802.3af) or an optional 24 Vdc supply. Indicators on the front panel show selected headphone channel, mic mute, network sync, and Ethernet link/speed.
The TP-BN14 is suitable for meeting rooms, conference spaces, courtrooms, and interpretation setups where a local mic feed and selectable headphone monitoring are required. It supports mono Dante channels to stereo headphone monitoring and can be configured to route a dedicated channel or follow the speaker source as set by an installer. The small footprint and tabletop design make it unobtrusive in participant areas.
Installation is straightforward with PoE powering option or an external 24 Vdc supply and bottom-panel adjustment/switch settings for installer configuration. The VCA-based front-panel level control avoids passing audio through the pot for long-term noise-free operation. The chassis and shock-mounted mic input are designed for reliable daily use in professional AV environments.
