Description
The TX-MVX is a 2×1 BNC manual remote-controlled video switch designed to route composite video signals between two sources or destinations. It uses a high-quality RF relay to ensure clean signal transfer and ground-referenced BNC connections for reliable composite video performance. The unit supports either manual actuation or remote switching via an open-collector trigger.
Key features include a common video output that normally connects to VIDEO A and switches to VIDEO B when the TRIG terminal is pulled to ground. The TRIG input accepts a ground-referenced control signal and senses a threshold of 2 Vdc with a 2 mA input current. The module also accepts open-collector control from other RDL modules or relay contacts for flexible integration.
Technically, the TX-MVX requires a 24 Vdc ground-referenced supply at approximately 30 mA. The module operates across a wide ambient range from -10 C to 55 C and uses standard BNC connectors for compatibility with NTSC and PAL composite video systems. The RF relay contact routing minimizes signal degradation and preserves video integrity during switching.
Connectivity is straightforward with BNC input/output connectors and a TRIG control terminal for remote switching. The TX-MVX can be driven by open-collector SLAVE outputs on other RDL modules or by dry relay contacts on third-party equipment. It is compatible with common AV control approaches and can be mounted with other RDL products or standard AV rack and panel accessories.
Typical applications include switching between playback and live sources in broadcast racks, switching CCTV composite feeds, and integration into AV systems that require remote or logic-controlled video routing. The TX-MVX is suitable for both NTSC and PAL environments and can be combined with RDL detection and control modules to implement automated switching workflows.
Installation is simple and discrete. The compact module ships in a cardboard box and is powered by a ground-referenced 24 Vdc supply. The robust RF relay and standard BNC connectors provide dependable mechanical and electrical performance in professional AV installations. The TX-MVX is engineered for straightforward integration and consistent switching behavior.
