Description
The UH18-S is the transmitter unit of a compact HDMI and USB2.0 over single CAT5e/6 extender kit. This transmitter pairs with a receiver to extend 4K@60 video, USB2.0, bi-directional IR, RS-232 and power over a single cable up to 100 meters. The listing is for the transmitter only and is designed to integrate into pro AV installations where space is limited.
As a HDBaseT 2.0 compliant transmitter, the UH18-S supports HDMI 2.0 signaling, HDCP 2.2 and HDR10. It carries high resolution video at 4K@60 and supports lower resolutions up to 1080p@60 at extended distances. The system also supports multichannel audio formats including LPCM 7.1, DTS-HD and Dolby-HD.
Performance is optimized for AV distribution and control. The UH18-S allows a single CAT5e/6 cable to transport video, USB2.0 data, control signals and power – reducing cabling and installation time. EDID management and plug-and-play operation simplify source and display handshake for reliable operation in mixed hardware environments.
Connectivity includes HDMI 2.0 input and HDBaseT output over CAT5e/6 along with USB2.0 extension and control pass-through. The extender supports bi-directional IR and RS-232 control pass-through and provides audio extraction capabilities at the receiver end. Compatibility covers HDCP 2.2 compliant sources and HDR10 capable displays.
The UH18-S is suited to digital signage, corporate AV and education deployments where long cable runs are required. Use cases include meeting room AV distribution, remote display installations and KVM-style USB extension scenarios where peripherals need to be located near the receiver. The single-cable transport reduces installation complexity and conduit requirements.
Installation is straightforward and quick – the UH18-S features a low-profile chassis that mounts behind displays or in tight spaces. Power can be supplied on either side of the link thanks to dual POC capability, eliminating the need for power at both endpoints. Robust design and HDBaseT compliance ensure dependable long-term operation in professional AV systems.
