Description
The XT550 is a 5.25 inch coaxial outdoor loudspeaker designed for distributed background and foreground music and paging in outdoor environments. It uses a sealed in-ground enclosure to deliver extended low frequency response and consistent coverage. The speaker is available in granite green and sandstone finishes for landscape integration.
Key features include a 133 mm polypropylene woofer, a 25 mm aluminum dome tweeter mounted on an integrated horn, and patented BroadBeam waveguide technology for even horizontal dispersion. A weather-proof 5-position tap switch with a 32 Watt transformer supports 25/70.7/100 Volt systems and a transformer bypass position for low-impedance operation. The enclosure is UV, scratch, chlorine and weather resistant for long-term outdoor use.
Performance specifications include a frequency response down to 49 Hz at -10 dB with the port open and a maximum SPL of 101 dB at 1 meter. Sensitivity is specified as 86 dB at 2.38 V/1 m and 83 dB at 1 W/1 m. Power handling is rated at 60 Watts RMS and 120 Watts program power which supports music and paging applications.
Connectivity uses an 18-gauge wire lead and multiple wire inlet locations to speed daisy chaining and field wiring. Liquid-tight compression fittings and stainless-steel fasteners provide water-tight protection and corrosion resistance. The included anti-theft brackets and stainless-steel square-tip screws improve security in public outdoor installations.
The XT550 is suited to theme parks, promenades, playgrounds, resorts and outdoor dining areas where 360-degree horizontal coverage is required. The BroadBeam waveguide reduces the number of speaker nodes needed while maintaining consistent coverage across walkways and gathering spaces. The IP55-rated enclosure and sealed design allow reliable operation in exposed environments.
Installation is simplified by the in-ground bracket design, optional port vent for additional LF output, and a transformer tap selector for common distributed audio systems. The roto-molded polyethylene enclosure and powder-coated stainless-steel grille support long service life. Product compliance includes CE approval and pending UL 1480 (UEAY).
