Description
The ZX1-90 is a passive, full-range 2-way loudspeaker designed to deliver clear mid and high frequencies along with controlled low-end output. It combines an 8in weatherized woofer and a 1in compression driver in a rotatable horn to provide flexible coverage patterns. This loudspeaker is intended for live sound, FOH, and stage monitor applications where reliability and intelligibility matter.
Key features include a rotatable 90 x 50 degree horn, 200W continuous power handling with 800W peak capability, and full-bandwidth overload protection to safeguard the drivers. The enclosure is weatherized and includes an integrated pole mount and recessed handle for rapid deployment and transport. The wedge-angle design permits use as a floor monitor or as a pole-mounted PA cabinet without sacrificing performance.
Technically the ZX1-90 provides a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB) and extended response to 48 Hz at -10 dB, with a measured maximum SPL of 123 dB and a sensitivity of 94 dB. The HF section is driven by a 1in-exit titanium compression driver with a 1.25in voice coil and is crossed over at 1700 Hz. The bass-reflex port and velocity-compensated port design improve low frequency output for an enclosure of this size.
Connectivity is straightforward with dual speakON NL4 inputs for secure speaker cable connections and compatibility with common amplifiers. Nominal impedance is 8 Ohms with a 6 Ohm minimum, and the cabinet does not include transformer taps or constant-voltage options. The rotatable horn permits horizontal or vertical pattern placement without rewiring.
Typical use cases include small to medium live music reinforcement, speech and presentation systems, and use as a stage monitor in touring or fixed installations. Outdoor-capable transducers and weatherized enclosure materials allow operation in semi-protected exterior settings. The integrated pole mount and multiple fly points simplify rigging for both permanent and temporary installations.
Installation and field use are simplified by a single recessed rear handle, a bottom pole socket, and four fly points for suspension. The enclosure is constructed from durable polymer with a metal grille to protect the drivers and survive frequent transport. Full-bandwidth overload protection reduces the risk of damage when driven hard during live performances.
Overall, the ZX1-90 offers a compact footprint with flexible mounting, robust protection, and balanced acoustic performance. It is a practical choice where a reliable passive two-way loudspeaker is required for PA or monitor roles. The combination of power handling, SPL, and coverage makes it suitable for a wide range of professional AV and live sound applications.
