Download Manual The ZX1I-90 is an 8 inch, 2-way passive full-range loudspeaker engineered for indoor and outdoor installations. It delivers controlled 90 x 50 degree coverage and sustained output in a compact enclosure. The cabinet is weatherized and built for reliable long-term operation in exposed environments.
The loudspeaker pairs an EV8L 8 inch weather-treated cone woofer with a DH2005 1 inch exit true compression driver and a 1.7 kHz crossover for coherent band integration. Two rotatable horn coverage patterns are available including the 90 x 50 pattern supplied with this model, enabling long-throw or cluster use. Full-bandwidth overload protection and transformer options are available to support a wide range of system designs.
Measured performance includes a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB) and a wider frequency range to 48 Hz (-10 dB). Sensitivity is specified at 94 dB (1 W/1 m) and maximum calculated SPL is 123 dB. Rated system power is 200 W continuous, 400 W program, and 800 W peak which supports both speech and music reproduction at high levels.
Connectivity is provided via a 4-pin Phoenix connector and the transformer ‘T’ version supplies multiple wattage taps for 70 V and 100 V installations. The ZX1I-T includes patented Automatic Saturation Compensation (ASC) to protect the driving amplifier from transformer saturation at low frequencies. A recommended high-pass filter frequency is 40 Hz to protect the loudspeaker from over-excursion in typical installations.
This model is suited to long-throw and cluster applications, distributed constant-voltage systems, PA fills, and on-wall foreground or background reinforcement. The controlled horn and compact footprint make it useful in hospitality, houses of worship, retail and transit environments. Its weatherized grille and treated driver cone make it appropriate for covered outdoor locations and perimeter use.
Installation is simplified by the integrated QuickSAM heavy-duty strong-arm mounting bracket which allows snap-on mounting and agile aiming. The injection-molded ABS enclosure and polyester powder-coated galvanized-steel grille with hydrophobic cloth deliver mechanical rigidity and environmental resistance. Optional accessories include an array bracket kit and a weatherized input panel cover with gland nut for additional protection.
