Download Manual The ZX1i-90 is an 8 inch two-way passive full-range loudspeaker designed for indoor and outdoor installations. It delivers clear vocal presence and extended low-frequency response in a compact injection-molded ABS enclosure. The product is intended for installed sound applications that require reliable weatherized performance and predictable coverage.
The enclosure uses a velocity-compensated port and a long-excursion EV8L 8 inch woofer to extend low frequency output beyond what is common for small enclosures. A DH2005 1 inch exit compression driver provides high output and broad HF response via a rotatable horn. Two rotatable horn coverage patterns are available to suit different throw and dispersion needs.
Electrical and acoustic performance include a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB), nominal sensitivity of 94 dB 1W/1m, and a maximum calculated SPL of 123 dB. The system is rated at 200 W continuous with 400 W program and 800 W peak capacity and uses a 1.7 kHz crossover point to integrate LF and HF drivers. The nominal impedance is 8 ohm with a minimum of 6 ohm.
Connectivity is provided via a 4-pin phoenix connector and transformer-equipped versions include multiple wattage taps for 70 V and 100 V distributed systems. The ZX1i-T incorporates ASC automatic saturation compensation to protect the driving amplifier and maintain consistent low frequency behavior in constant voltage lines. A recommended high-pass filter at 40 Hz safeguards against over-excursion below box tuning.
This loudspeaker is suitable for speech and background music in retail, hospitality, houses of worship, and outdoor covered areas. It can be used as a single point speaker for focused coverage or combined in arrays using the optional AB-ZE array bracket. The rotatable horn and durable grille make it adaptable for both longer throw and wide dispersion requirements.
Installation is simplified by the included QuickSAM heavy-duty strong-arm mounting bracket allowing snap-on mounting and easy aiming adjustments. The ABS resin enclosure, polyester powder coated grille and hydrophobic cloth protect internal components for long-term outdoor use. EN54-24 type B certification is available when used with the TC-ZX1i cover for compliance in certified installations.
