Description
The ZX3-90B is a compact passive loudspeaker engineered for professional audio reinforcement and stage monitoring. It combines a 12in low frequency transducer and a 1in compression driver to deliver clear speech and musical reproduction across a broad frequency range. The enclosure is built for touring and installed sound applications where reliability and consistent performance are required.
Key features include a DVX3121 12in LF driver with forced air directional voice coil cooling and an ND2 1in exit neodymium compression driver. The design yields high sensitivity and a maximum calculated SPL of 131dB while maintaining a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms. Two coverage patterns are available and this model provides a 90 x 50 coverage pattern suited to wide audience areas or shorter throw situations.
Frequency response extends from 58 Hz to 15 kHz at -3 dB and the usable range reaches 48 Hz to 20 kHz at -10 dB, with a recommended high-pass frequency of 50 Hz. Passive power handling is rated at 600W continuous and 2400W peak, and biamp LF/HF ratings are 500W/40W continuous respectively. The crossover frequency is 2 kHz and the design delivers low distortion and extended low end for a 12in cabinet.
Connectivity is provided via two Neutrik Speakon NL4s connectors for secure, professional speaker connections. The enclosure supports passive or biamp operation and includes multiple suspension points: anchor plate locations, M8 inserts and forged steel eyebolt positions for flown or fixed installations. Nominal impedance, minimum impedance, and crossover details make the enclosure compatible with common professional amplifiers and DSP systems.
The ZX3-90B suits live sound reinforcement, small to mid-sized venue PA systems and monitor wedge applications. The enclosure can be positioned as a floor monitor at 45 or 55 degrees without additional accessories, and the 90 x 50 pattern works well for wider coverage on FOH and side fill duties. Its 131dB SPL capability supports speech intelligibility and controlled musical dynamics in live environments.
Installation and handling are simplified by the injection-molded polypropylene structural foam enclosure and multiple integrated rigging points. The grille is polyester powder coated 16GA galvanized steel with a rotatable logo to maintain orientation. This combination of durable materials and thoughtful mechanical features reduces setup time and increases longevity in touring and installed scenarios.
