Description
The ZX5-60PI is a passive 15 inch loudspeaker engineered for outdoor and indoor fixed installations where weather resistance and long-throw coverage are required. It delivers broad frequency response and high output in a compact, molded polymer enclosure. Designed for permanent mounts and flown arrays, the enclosure provides multiple suspension points for flexible rigging.
The system combines a DVX3150 15 inch low frequency driver with forced-air directional voice coil cooling and an ND2 neodymium compression driver with a 1 inch exit and titanium diaphragm. These transducers provide extended low frequency response, controlled dispersion and high acoustic output up to 132 dB SPL. A 60 x 60 coverage pattern balances throw and even coverage for cluster and long-throw applications.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 58 Hz to 18 kHz (-3 dB) and a wider range to 39 Hz to 20 kHz (-10 dB). Power handling is 600W continuous (2400W peak) in passive mode with biamp ratings of 500W LF and 40W HF. The system uses a 1.5 kHz crossover and an 8 Ohm nominal impedance to integrate with standard pro audio amplification.
Connectivity is provided via a two conductor SJO cable plus a gland nut input connection for weather-resistant permanent wiring. The enclosure supports both passive and biamp configurations and includes multiple M8 inserts and anchor plate locations for suspension. The grille uses powder coated galvanized steel with hydrophobic cloth to protect drivers in adverse conditions.
The ZX5-60PI is suitable for outdoor venues, themed attractions, houses of worship, and live sound reinforcement where IP-rated, weather-resistant loudspeakers are required. Its 60 x 60 dispersion works well for medium to long throw applications and cluster arrays. The loudspeaker provides high sensitivity and maximum SPL that help reduce amplifier count in distributed systems.
Installation and serviceability are simplified by molded polypropylene construction, integrated handles and ten forged steel eyebolt locations plus three anchor plates for single-stud fittings. The enclosure geometry is optimized for stiffness and bass response while remaining lightweight for rigging. IP44 environmental protection and MIL-spec durability features provide reliable operation in exposed installations.
