Description
The ZX5-60W is a 15 inch passive loudspeaker designed to deliver controlled coverage and reliable stage or installation performance. It combines a DVX3150 low frequency transducer and an ND2 neodymium compression driver to provide broad bandwidth and high output. The enclosure is molded polypropylene structural foam for durability and consistent acoustic behavior.
Key features include a 60 x 60 degree coverage pattern, a 600W continuous passive power rating, and selectable passive/biamp operation. The DVX3150 uses forced-air directional voice coil cooling and optimized suspension for extended low frequency performance and low distortion. The ND2 compression driver uses a neodymium motor and titanium diaphragm to maintain clarity and high output at the crossover region.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 58 Hz to 18 kHz (-3 dB) and a maximum calculated SPL of 132 dB. Axial sensitivity is 98 dB (1W/1m) and the nominal impedance is 8 Ohms with a 1.5 kHz crossover frequency. The speaker supports biamping with dedicated LF and HF power handling ratings for system flexibility.
Connectivity and rigging are straightforward – the ZX5-60W uses dual Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors and provides multiple integral suspension points including anchor plates and M8 inserts. The enclosure includes three anchor plates for single-stud fittings plus additional attachment points under the handle and on the enclosure back. Monitor use is supported by two integrated angles selectable at 45 degrees or 55 degrees.
Applications include FOH or stage monitoring in live sound, fill or cluster deployments in touring and fixed installations, and foreground reinforcement in houses of worship and small theatres. The 60 x 60 coverage pattern makes the cabinet suitable for long-throw and clustered arrays while the polypropylene enclosure supports indoor and covered outdoor use. The white finish allows for low-visibility installation in aesthetic-sensitive environments.
Installation and maintenance are simplified by the molded enclosure, forged steel eyebolts, and multiple suspension options which reduce the need for external brackets. The rotatable steel grille and powder coat finish protect the components while allowing logo orientation changes. Overall the ZX5-60W balances rugged construction, manageable weight, and flexible mounting to provide consistent, repeatable performance.
