The ZX5-90B is a passive 15 inch loudspeaker engineered to deliver clear full-range sound in portable and installed AV systems. It pairs a DVX3150 low-frequency driver with an ND2 neodymium compression driver to reproduce bass and high frequencies with low distortion. The enclosure is injection-molded polypropylene structural foam for impact resistance and reliable on-road use.
Key features include a 15 in DVX3150 driver with forced air directional voice coil cooling and a 1 in exit ND2 neodymium compression driver with a titanium diaphragm. The system provides selectable passive or biamp operation and a 90 x 50 coverage pattern optimized for wider audience coverage. Rated power handling is 600W continuous and 2400W peak in passive mode with high sensitivity for loud, clear output.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 58 Hz to 18 kHz (-3 dB) and a usable range to 39 Hz (-10 dB). Sensitivity is 98 dB (1W/1m) with a maximum calculated SPL of 132 dB, and a passive crossover at 1.5 kHz. Nominal impedance is 8 Ohms with a minimum impedance of 6.5 Ohms to match common amplifiers and DSP controllers.
Connectivity is handled via two Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors and the enclosure supports passive or biamp wiring. The enclosure includes multiple suspension and rigging points – three anchor plate locations plus additional M8 inserts and forged eyebolts – to suit flown or truss-mounted deployments. Adjustable monitor angles of 45 deg or 55 deg are available for stage wedge use without extra accessories.
Typical applications include FOH mains in small to medium venues, front fill or club PA systems, and stage monitoring where the adjustable angles and durable enclosure are beneficial. The 90 x 50 coverage pattern is suitable for wider audience areas and shorter throw distances while maintaining consistent tonal balance. Its calculated SPL and sensitivity support use with a wide range of amplifiers and processors.
Installation is straightforward thanks to multiple suspension points, integral rigging plates, and M8 threaded inserts for brackets. The grille is 16GA galvanized steel with a rotatable logo and the enclosure meets IEC 529 IP24 / IP44 for the PI version. Available in black or white, the ZX5-90B combines robust construction and serviceable transducer components for long-term field use.
